I worked with truckers for a while. They are a group not to be messed with, generally speaking.
I'm curious by what mechanism you envision the government would be able to force them to work? I'm not creative enough to see how that happens. It is, for example, pretty easy to render a truck inoperable, permanently if need be.
Government must be starved of tax revenue and large corporations of earnings. Strikes and boycotts are the most logical way that my smooth brain has come up with.
